2000

2001

  • We have an executive office with five employees and successfully hosted the first fundraising event, issuing grants to 12 women's groups. 

  • Additionally, we became a member of the Prospera International Network of Women's Funds.

2003

  • MONES brought the concept of "Philanthropy" to the forefront of Mongolian society and marked the occasion by celebrating International Philanthropy Day dedicated to women.

  • We became a member of the Women's Funds Network in the USA.

2005

  • We convened the first "Through women's eyes - Women Empower" conference. 

  • We organized the inaugural meeting of women's funds in the Asian region.

2007

  • The strategic direction for the funding grant program was approved for the period between 2007 and 2012.

  • An exchange visit was initiated to facilitate the sharing of experiences among local women's non-governmental organizations and groups.

2002

2004

  • We initiated fundraising activities at the local level.

  • We served as the network coordinator for Asian Women's Foundations.

2006

  • An 88-day fundraising event was initiated and organized to combat sexual harassment against children and women.

2008

  • Meetings with donors and grantee partners were initiated and organized.

  • MONES began providing support to women engaged in local decision-making processes and promoting collaboration among women's non-governmental organizations.

2010

  • MONES organized a meeting of the network of international women’s funds in Ulaanbaatar.

  • Over a 10-year period, MONES granted 519.3 million MNT to 213 grants. 

  • Additionally, 496 domestic and foreign organizations contributed both monetary and non-monetary support, engaging a total of 4,000 donors.

2009

  • The "Make the Case" methodology was developed to assess the impact of grants in relation to driving social change.

2011

  • The joint project of Asian Women’s Funds “Increasing Women’s Political Participation’ was implemented in 5 aimags.

2012

  • We actively engaged in fundraising initiatives, collaborating with non-governmental organizations in the domains of human rights and women's rights. 

  • Furthermore, we supported collaboration among women candidates for representatives of the citizens in seven provinces and women-led NGOs.

2014

  • The initiation of a system to educate preschool children against potential violence has commenced.

2016

  • As part of the new strategy for Women's Rights and Environmental Justice, a key principle focused on empowering women's NGOs and providing grants.

  • We introduced and shared our domestic fundraising experience with international funds. 

  • We launched the first large-scale project aimed at spreading knowledge of GBV prevention to teenage students and increasing state involvement. 

  • At the national level, a discussion on the law to combat domestic violence took place, and proposals were presented to the Standing Committee on State Policy of the Parliament.

  • Since its establishment, MONES has been actively providing grants and forming coalitions in the fight against Sexual Harassment at the Workplace. We have undertaken external evaluations of these actions to assess societal attitudes, the outcomes of implemented activities, and the changes brought about regarding Sexual Harassment at the Workplace.

  • We developed a methodology to provide age-appropriate knowledge on self-protection and violence prevention for children, therefore teachers, parents from 11 kindergartens in 3 aimags and Ulaanbaatar city received training. 

  • Additionally, for the first time, a fundraising strategy 2017-2020 was developed based on the findings of a survey conducted among donors supporting women's empowerment.

2019

2018

  • To foster mutual learning and experience sharing among women's rights organizations across 21 provinces, we organized the "One Goal - One Voice" women's rights fair.

  • As part of our program to enhance the living environment for vulnerable groups, three families received winter houses, and three families were provided with complete houses. 

  • To prevent human rights violations and create a supportive environment for girls and young women migrating to Ulaanbaatar city, we launched the "Davalgaa" smartphone application, offering quick access to necessary information. 

  • We proudly became a member of the "Asian Women Against Mining" network, collaborating with similar organizations across Asia.

2020

  • In collaboration with 19 NGOs dedicated to protecting women's rights, a comprehensive study titled "Situation of Women's Rights in Mongolia: 2015-2019" was conducted.

  • The 10th Alternative Report on the implementation of ЭАБХУТК the was prepared and submitted to the UN Committee.

  • An online South Asia regional consultation meeting "Women's Rights and Environmental Justice"  was successfully organized in partnership with organizations from India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka in the Asian region.

  • To empower ethnic minority Kazakh children aged 4-5 with training in their mother tongue and equip their parents with knowledge and skills to prevent violence, a project was initiated. The method for providing age-appropriate self-defense and preventive knowledge was translated into Kazakh and distributed to kindergartens in the Bayan-Olgi province.

  • The project "Improving the Economic Potential of Rural Areas and Ensuring Equal Gender Participation" was launched with the aim of increasing women's contributions to local economic development.

  • During the COVID-19 pandemic quarantine, grants were provided to shelters of the National Center Against Violence and groups of mothers with disabilities to protect survivors of violence.

2013

  • We organized the consultation meeting "Women: New Environment and New Opportunities".

  • For the first time, we hosted the fundraising VIP party "Beautiful Ladies Supported by Members of Parliament."

  • We joined the "ONE BILLION RISING" international movement, uniting activists to combat violence against girls and women, and initiated the "ONE BILLION RISING" movement demonstration in Mongolia.

2015

  • We approved its strategy for 2016-2020.

  • Over the 15 years period, 974.7 million MNT was allocated to 326 projects of women-led non-governmental organizations and groups. 

  • Additionally, support came from 616 domestic and international organizations, engaging 60,000 donors.

  • For the first time, we organized the "100 Women Leaders" fundraising relay.
